Update for the 2 foot high 160 meter Beverage antenna. We have a lot of snow
in Northern New England. Another Blizzard was in progress. The close to
earth Beverage is under snow. Could not see the reduction in signal strength
so must have been small. Snow static from the dry blowing snow was bad on
the transmit Verticals, S-9 most of the time. On the 10 foot high Beverage
made with insulated wire it was S-7. The buried in snow Beverage was quiet
except for a loud pop every 4-7 seconds. Was able to copy signals on 160 and
80 meters OK.. Worked VK6LK on 80 long path when others in the storm were
just complaining about the noise.

Snow has virtually no effect on antennas. I have used wires laying on/in
the ( snowy) ground.
