Asked,

"Greetings all,

I have heard about an Inverted-L Bazooka type antenna that is a 1/4
wave long. It is supposed to be lower in noise than the true
inverted-l.

If anyone has any diagrams/photos/web sites/information about this
antenna, I would like to hear from you. I live on a small city lot that
is surrounded by man made noise and only have room for an inverted-l."

Charlie,

An INV-L Bazooka IS a 'true INV-L' and so has every characteristic of
the same, including the same S/N ratio. The outer shield is the
antenna's element conductor. There is no advantage plus the coax is
awkward to support and not as strong as a simple wire element. These
statements are the consensus of many previous discussions on this
subject.
