Greetings everyone!
Well, I was almost floating in email-replies to my question
"Support Lines Crossing ABOVE 14KV Lines " and thank
all of you for taking the time to respond.
The recommendations were almost split evenly between NOT
stringing anything over the lines and "do it" with suggestions
to ensure safety and living to a great old age!
Measurement techniques for evaluating the resistance of new
and weathered non-metallic lines, Nylon and Phillistran support
ropes, get a bid on the cost of burying the "mains", horror-stories
of various unfortunates, and to never cross the lines with
conductors that could - somehow - make contact with the
powerlines were included in the replies.
After all of this, I do plan to go overhead but will, as some folks
mentioned, rest uneasily at times - the nights before I do the
work or push the power-on button on the radio!
Again, thank you and 73.. Dick w7wkr
