There has been a lot of discussion about various antennas used on 160 and 80/75
meters.

I was told that the horizontal loop was not good for use on 160 and 80 meters.
The reason there was no low angle radiation produced by this thype of antenna.

One QST article spoke about building a 160 loop antenna that would produce a
low angle of radiation for working DX, this article was written by a VE2 while
another article by W1FB, fed by open wire feeders.

Could anyone please advise which is a better antenna for DX as well as contacts
within 500 to 800 miles.

Perhaps a longwire may work better but needs a radial system.
