The signal arrival azimuths from Europe have changed drastically from
earlier years at my QTH. In past years both a Beverage and a
3-element in-line array pointed at 106 degrees (T) were quite able to
work into Europe around the auroral oval. The past couple of weeks
the signals on these antennas are nil!

I've had to disable two of my elements, converting the array into a
plain vertical. Immediately the EU sigs were there. Despite the poor
noise performance of the vertical, it's way better than the Beverage.
I am now scrambling to put up a new array pointing the right direction
which appears to be close to great circle. That will be difficult due
to the mountainous terrain at my QTH but it's clear that the old
arrangements don't cut it anymore.

Rudy N6LF
