Charlie, W0YG is QRV from Christmas Island until Nov 5th or so as VK9XG.
Charlie reports having erected a Force 12 160 m vertical in addition to a tall
Inverted V hung over the cliff to the sea. For rx, he finds a low dipole best
over his years of operating from Christmas.
Friday was a good day for VK9XG on the low bands. Charlie reports working more
NA stns on 160 than all his combined previous trips. Still nothing east of old
Miss but contacts in CO and TX, in addition to many west coast guys.
With lack of sunspots and very quiet conditions, he is hopeful for more action
on top band. Watch 1831 from 11Z and 21Z.
Rainy season noise, along with Asia jamming is a major problem at his end but
he will continue the vigil.
