Regarding:

http://www.dallas.net/~jvpoll/Filter/TheAMBrickWall.html

"Attenuates ALL signals in the AM broadcast - with a spec'd
minimum 40 dB of attenuation beginning at 1700 KHz"

filter? Is it commercially available or is it 'one of a kind' and made of
unobtanium?

This is equivalent with less marketing hype:

http://www.universal-radio.com/catalog/filters/4426.html

"The minimum attenuation for below 1700 kHz is 41 dB"

Dale W4OP can also "special tune" one for even
greater rejection at specific frequencies...and he
does know what he's doing.
