I've never noticed any change with snow on the ground here at the home 
station, but one of my best nights of mobile DXing on 160 occurred in a 
snowstorm a year or so ago, when I worked a couple of European stations 
and received better than usual reports. Perhaps the salt put down by the 
road crews helped give me a better signal.
