Speaking of dye-in-wool topbanders, Jan was a first DL for
many USA stations in the earlier years. I believe his DL9KRA
call from a special alternate location where he had a better
antenna. The other very active German station who gave many
a first DL was DL1FF Armin.
If you worked a DL in the 60's or 70's on 160 it was either
Jan or Armin.
