> I dont want to have to deal with ground rods in winter.
Steve:
We used to operate the ARRL 160 from the Ohio State Radio Observatory when
it existed.
It was basically a winter field day operation. We would put up 7 or 8
Beverages a couple
days before the contest. For ground rods, we used the 2 foot long guy
stakes that come
with those 5 foot aluminum mast kits that were fairly popular a few years
ago. Beverage
antennas are not very picky about ground rod quality.
