Gentlemen of the Topband
The band has been alive at least for us in the Pacific Northwest.
I have logged RA4LW on five consecutive nights now - and have been
putting new calls into the log that I haven't worked before. Most
nights, I have logged about 10 Europeans and there have been some
pretty strong signals on the QSB peaks. Last night, I worked the
following:
RA4LW
RA3XDX
UA3TCJ
SM4CAN
OE3GCU
SM7DLK
HA0DU
G4AMT
Heard, but not worked this evening were DF2PY, RK0LXS and some
others. I had good copy on SV3RF a couple of nights ago, so the
openings are even going into southern Europe.
So - once again - we are experiencing some pretty good conditions
early in the season. This is just what the Boring Amateur Radio
Club was hoping for when they announced the Stew Warmup that is
taking place THIS WEEKEND.
Check out the rules at http://web.jzap.com/k7rat/stew.html
True, there will be no plaques for this event. But it should be a
fun evening on the topband regardless.
