Excellent conditions to Europe both nights of CQWW.
(In Central CA, even hearing EU at all constitutes
excellent conditions :-)
Friday night was good early. Saturday night started out poorly,
but many EU signals were heard in the hour before EU sunrise.
The following 15 EU stations got in the log:
CU2X, DF0HQ, DJ0MDR, EE2W, EF8M, IR4M, M6T, LN3Z, LN9Z,
OK1NY, OZ5E, SM2M, SN3R, SP3BQ, TM6M
No EU signals were very strong; most QSO's were made with very
few dB of margin. Many thanks to those ops with good ears.
Got several new band counters in EU. Never worked Norway on 160,
then two QSO's within 5 minutes. Spotlight?
Also worked rare OX5AA and 5K0T for two more counters. 5K0T was
extremely strong here, but impossible to work early in the
evening due to the pileup, and then was trivial to work later
on after the band closed to EU and the pileup died down.
The band was wide open to Africa with the usual strong signals from:
3X5A, CN2R, CT9L, D4C, EA8ZS, etc
