I have seen this pattern enough now - that I think it is significant.

These are in reverse order:

0344     k8oql   1800.5  K7RAT/B         Both 559 d=2268 mi.
0332     k8oql   1800.6  K7RAT/B         539 with slow QSB
0326     k8oql   1999.6  K7RAT   549/559 ur Sundown
0312     k8oql   1800.5  K7RAT/B         Nil
0307     k8oql   1999.7  K7RAT/B         329 in FM09oi Eastern

My sunset was 0323 UTC.  

Same thing at the sunrise on the east coast.  The higher frequency seems to 
do much better when there is sunlight in the mix.  

Looks like it will take more data to draw conclusions about when both ends
of the path are in darkness.

My six digit grid square is CN85tj if you want to look at sunrise/sunset
times.
