On two of my DX Engineering reversible Beverages, I am using their feed line
chokes, installed per their instructions. This calls for them to be placed
15-30 feet from the Beverage feed-point, with a ground rod.
I have purchased six of the mix 31 snap-on cores, and I plan to install them
on my remaining antennas this summer. They will have 5 turns of RG-6 through
the cores.
The question is do they also need to be placed 15-30 feet away, or can they
be closer to the feed point? Do they need a ground rod on the "cold" end, as
the DX Eng. units require? Does each feed line at the radio end need
separate chokes, or can I put a single choke between the Beverage switch box
and the radio? Do I need a separate ground rod here?
Inquiring minds want to know, before I do a lot of work to no avail.
If these snap-ons work, they will make life simpler, and are much easier on
the wallet. I bought six cores from Mouser for about $90.
Thanking you all in advance for your sage advice...
