  Steve gave me a huge thrill when he came back as 5A3CJ to my genuine 10 watts 
with a 458c report for my first DX qso on 160
on 08 Feb 1963. Later on, we had a couple of rag chews, too.
He was a gentle and superb partner and with his perseverance at digging out 
faint signals, he made many people very happy.
His passing is a severe loss for the 160 fraternity.

RIP Steve!
