Good idea on using posts...readily available. On the concrete
mix, I've had good luck using just FINE sand, washed in with water.
Using fine sand with water will fill every void and tightly lock the
post

DX Engineering sells well made insulated standoffs with metal braces
for various mast sizes which can be bolted onto pressure treated wood
posts. They are also inexpensive.
