The phased array books mentioned in earlier notes can all be helpful but
tend to be expensive and/or hard to find.
There is a very nice book on arrays, "M.T. Ma, Theory and Application of
Antenna Arrays, Wiley-Interscience, 1974". This one also has its share of
math but is still relatively easy to read and much of the material in it
does relate to topband applications. It's not so strongly focused on phase
array radar applications. Better yet it is cheap! $17.49 on Amazon. As of
this writing they had 13 copies.
