Wow, I have received numerous comments on my question, and the results are unanimous. That being to let the Inverted L float when in the receive mode. This is fairly easy to implement, and shall be done shortly. Thanks to all who responded. I am quite eager for cooler weather to arrive, and 160 meters to begin to wake up.
