Very true. A few years from now contacts from NA to z18/19
or EU to z31/32 will be extremely rare instead of "routine" as they are now.
Yesterday morning RZ0SR (Irkutsk 357 @ degrees) was coming
in the best I've ever heard him. Last night RW0BG (Norilsk @ 4
degrees) and RZ9DX/0 (Dikson Island @ 6 degrees) worked several
stations across NA. This morning SM2CEW and N1BUG heard each other
at different times (no QSO) around Paul's 1122z sunrise in
Maine. These stations were all coming in best due North with the
very slow QSB typical of Polar paths (BTW magnetic north from here is
353 degrees). And of course EU is working all over the Pacific with
relative ease (3D20CR, TX5SPA, 3D2KJ, TX3A, many KH6s, etc).
Several Russian stations in UA3/4/9 have completed or are
very close to completing their WAS on 160. Special congrats to Gena
UA9MA for making the first WAS from Zone 17. Amazing times
indeed! We may be remembering these conditions for decades into the
future. Enjoy while you can.
