Tree,
See if you can persuade someone to lend you their AIM4170. The software
for the AIM has just been updated to include a TDR function, and this
performs very well.
For more details, see the "AIM_840 Program Update" item in the AIM
discussion forum:
<http://aim4150.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=analyzer&field=ordertime&or
der=desc&page=1>
See also my updated AIM4170 PowerPoint presentation on this page:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/wadei/aim4170.htm
New slides 67-71 in the presentation show examples of TDR scans on coax
cables, and in a few days there will be another new slide showing a very
illuminating TDR scan of an open-wire feeder.
There's no doubt about it -- the AIM4170 just gets better and better!
