In checking the rules on the CQ web site I see that they are by no means clear
....
The Rules say:
IV. Exchange: RS(T) and state for U.S., province for Canada, and CQ Zone for
DX. Note: Zones are location indicators only and
do not count for multipliers.
V. Multiplier:
U.S. States: (48 contiguous states); U.S. District of Columbia (DC) (1)
Canadian Provinces: (14) VO1, VO2, NB, NS, PEI (VY2), VE2, VE3, VE4, VE5, VE6,
VE7, VE8 (NWT), VY1 (YUK), VY0.
The rules say there are 14 Canadian Mults and VO1 and VO2 are separate
mults?...but what exchange should be sent?
Strict adherence to the rules would dictate "NL'" be sent for both VO1 (NF) and
VO2 (LB).
VO1 prefix and VO2 prefix are in the same Canadian Province named "
Newfoundland and Labrador".
The official political abbreviation for the province of "Newfoundland and
Labrador" is "NL" ....
VO1 is Newfoundland Island (in Zone 5) which usually carries the designator
"NF".
VO2 is Labrador (in Zone 2) which usually carries the designator "LB".
Does anyone know what should be sent to avoid confusion with logging software?
