Thanks for the suggestion. That's a neat trick you use to reduce the diameter of the center conductor. The important thing is to slot the brass compression ring. If you cut a good sized gap in the ring, it will snug a whole lot better on the soft aluminum. It will stay tight longer, and also be easily removable.
