The "perfect" method (IMHO) is the "aluminum clothesline tensioner"
such as shown on Amazon at this URL:
http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=clothesline+tensioner&tag=mh0b-20&index=aps&hvadid=3487082471&ref=pd_sl_7gays5pa04_e
Fits 3/16 inch rope.
For larger rope, I use fence T-posts as anchors and wrap the
rope around the post a few times and then tie a hitch knot.

Hello friends,
Greetings from Ecuador, where I moved and got the callsign HC1PF.
Finally I'm going to install my 160m TX antenna which will be guyed
with 5/16 and 3/16 STI Polyester rope just arrived from DX
Engineering.
But I have a dumb question: is it better to anchor it with the usual
steel wire rope clips, or is it better to tie the rope directly with
nodes on itself ?
Thanks and hope to work you all soon again on Topband from this location.
I will put again all my 160m. works, new experiences and reports on my
old website www.iv3prk.it
