Well I just bought my 1st Yaesu rotor. Man I really like the control box
and the fact that it only needs 6 wires instead of 8. The point and shoot
knob is neat. I hate having to hold down the brake button and the turning
button on the Hygains. Ya, you can get modified. But why would I buy a new
rotor and then get the box modified? I doubt I buy another Hygain if this
thing lasts long.

Another thing... the rotor is REALLY light weight.

Also... if I read the instructions correctly, I dont need to go up on the
tower to change the heading of the beam if the wind blows it around in the
rotor. As long as the coax isn't twisted around the tower, all I do is take
off the pointer and stick it back on the face with the correct direection.
COOOL!!!

K4JPD tore up a bunch of different rotors at his place trying to keep the
2ele 80m beam turning. He had a Yaesu on it for 2 years before the
hurricane took the antenna down. The rotor still works.

Just thought ya'll would like to know.

Back to net.

Bill
