Before we get too far we need to understand the difference between DEVIATION
and VARIATION. It is VARIATION that yall are talking about when you correct
between MAGNETIC and TRUE heading. DEVIATION is used to correct between
COMPASS and MAGNETIC heading. DEVIATION is the result of installing a
compass in something like a boat or aircraft. VARIATION is the result of
the inconsistancy of the earth's magnetic fiels.

What was previously said on the subject is true. You hjust wer not calling
it the correct thing.
Its funny ...we have computer programs thatget our beam headings down to the
degree or better. Then we rotate an array with a TailTwister that has only
60 braek positions (every 6 degrees)... and that array has a beam width of
something like 30 or more degrees. Reminds me of ...maeasure it with a
micrometer, mark it with a crayon and cut it with an axe!
With normal HF arrays...close is OK!
