My Seagate ST31640A bit the dust today. Machine running fine when I noticed the
HD light was
on continuously, and smelled a slight burning odor. ( from the computer ). Last
back up about
2 weeks ago and some critical data on it now. Still in warrenty, but that's
gonna take 6 weeks
turnaround. No noise ( I know a crash when I hear one ) so think the fault if
on the circuit
board.
My question is can this critical data be pulled off and then the drive shipped
to Seagate.
If you know place around Atlanta, would appreciate info.
