Towers and Building Permits

I guess I should feel lucky.  I hope and pray that Joe (KF6CWX) has the
same luck at his hearing.  I went to see the city planner and code
enforcement guy.  He told me this:

"All you need is to be 25' inside your property lines.  All parts,
including guy wires, anchors, tower must be in inside 25' of the property
line.  If you are going to follow this then you don't need a permit.  This
is because you have at least 1 acre of land, and your not going over any
boundaries."

He then signed the letter I had drafted that went like this:

"This document confirms the permission to build and maintain an amateur
radio antenna tower at the above stated address.  It is understood that the
guidelines below will be followed.  It is also understood that NO BUILDING
PERMIT OR SPECIAL WRITTEN PERMISSION IS NEEDED.

Guidelines:
1. Guy wire anchors will be located inside the 25' setback.
2. No connecting structure shall go beyond the 25' setback.

"

He signed it and all is well.
