IN THE PAST 2-3 DAYS, A PARACHUTIST CLIMBED WHAT WAS APPARENTLY A
SEVERAL HUNDRED FT. TOWER IN SOUTH CAROLINA , CLOSE TO ME, AND WENT UP
ABOUT 1/2 OF THE TOWER AND JUMPED. HE OPENED HIS CHUTE, AND GOT TANGLED
IN THE BOTTOM GUY CABLE. HE DANGLED THERE FOR QUITE A FEW HOURS AS
RESCUE PERSONEL DECIDED HOW TO TACKLE THE RESCUE. AFTER DELIBERATING FOR
A TIME, THEY RIGGED UP SEVERAL PULLEYS AND SOMEONE WENT DOWN THE CABLE
AFTER THE TRESPASSER. I SAW THIS ONLY ON THE NEWS, SO THE DETAILS WERE
VAGUE. BUT I CAN ENVISION A PULLEY AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TOWER, ONE CLOSE
TO WHERE THE CABLE ATTACHES TO THE TOWER, AND ALL THAT ROPE OR SOME TYPE
OF STEEL CABLE FOR THE LOWERING. AND OF COURSE A PULLEY AT THE POINT TO
WHEREHE WAS CUT FREE AND LET DOWN. IT WAS STATED HE WAS CHARGED WITH
TRESPASSING, AND WERE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING ELSE TO CHARGE HIM WITH.
WHEN THE WFOX TOWER NEAR US WAS COMPLETED, A PARACHUTIST WENT TO THE TOP
OF IT(1760ft.), AND SUCESSFULLY JUMPED AND GUIDED TO THE GROUND. A LOT
OF TROUBLE FOR THRILLS......DAN N4GNR
