The GAP antennas use inductive center loading on the lowest frequency
of operation which reduces the overall efficiency on that band compared
to the higher bands where only end loading is applied.
This inductive loading is achieved by the transformation of a capacitive
reactance through a transmission line, resulting in an inductive
impedance at the feedpoint on the lowest frequency band.
For a review of these antennas, see QST for January 1995 pp. 76-77
written by K5FUV at the end of the product review section.
