One of the antenna systems used at XZ1N last November was a pair of EF-320's
(3el 20, 18' boom) fed in eschelon, aimed at the USA. The horizontal spacing
was 52'
The reason for doing so was to both increase the forward gain and to have a
narrow front lobe. This lobe made it much easier to hear the USA, because JA
was off to one side and EU was off to the other. When the paths were
available, we could swing one towards JA and the other towards EU. There
were other combinations used, also.
Have a good day and 73,
