I have a Bird 1000D element that has ceased to indicate. I don't believe
it suffered any physical trauma--it went unused for quite a while, and
now doesn't work. (No, it's not the meter itself). Any tips on sources
of information on how to disassemble the elements and what to look for?
I know Bird will repair it for me, but that would probably cost about as
much as a new element.
