Does this mean that trap less antennas like the Force!2's are stealthy
and will allow you to sneak through a pile up?

Hi Jim,
The masking tape is an interesting idea... but, if it doesn't fall off
then I'd worry about the hole clogging and that's a no no. Of course,
if you make the hole larger, the whistle will probably go away.
Blowing across a soda bottle makes an interesting sound but blowing
over a garbage can doesn't... but it does make an awful mess and an
even worse smell.
Now, if a garbage can had an opening like a soda bottle... it wouldn't
be of much use as a garbage can... but you knew that. However,
elephants would probably come running from milse around because of the
low frequencies you'd pump out... if you had the lung capacity.
If one is reluctant to enlarge the drain holes and the noise is
bothersome... then one might try masking the noise, not with tape, but,
by hanging wind chimes from one's beams. What about putting "beanie"
propellers on the ends of the elements? They might disturb the airflow
enough to interfere with the noise production.
Say Jim... when the wind whistles through the pines... no one really
complains.... but then again, no one really knows where in the pines
the whistling comes from. Why not simply blame the whistling on the
trees and forget about it? Who's gonna prove you wrong? If the noise
is particularly irksome... David Clark makes some great headsets we use
in the planes and when I ride my horribly noisy, Snapper mower.
But seriously folks, this is a kevlar thread.. and it cannot be broken,
however, like so many crazy things, you can always ignore them and they
will simply go away from lack of attention.

Roger, K2JAS
