Anybody have any experience or first hand knowledge of the new Cushcraft
Big Thunder Series Tribander Antennas, especially the X9 using four
elements each on 10,15, & 20. It uses log cell driven elements and
interleaved element design for quoted "mono-bander" type performance. It
sports a 28 ft. long 2.5 inch diameter boom and according to their sales
staff out performs the KT34XA. Uses full length reflector and driven
elements and only the directors are trapped.
I am in the process of putting up a new tribander and want to get comments
on this antenna before writing out the check to KLM for a KT34XA.
