K1VR: Ed is, of course right -- for most of the world. Sadly, this
solution doesn't work at my house where the other rope has been borrowed
by a neighbor for a project and isn't around on the day I need it, or the
other rope has been cut into small pieces for a kids project, or the
other rope was put into duty and is presently on the tower with two other
guys while we two are trying to pull a cable, and so forth. That's why
I prefer a double length dedicated to the pull use. Pull rope or pull
wire is cheap, what's really "expensive" is to discover that you've got
to make a Home Depot run while three guys stand around and wait. I long
for a world in which I don't have to scheme so that spares are always on
hand. -- Fred
