At the Web site, I just placed a brief note on a possible design for a
combined 12 and 17 meter 2-element quad. The 12 meter quad works on 17
through the addition of "hat" wires inside the loop, and the connecting
wire to the hats contains a trap--hence, 2 per element. Interesting
"trick" to get both antennas to work with 50-ohm cable, despite quite
different impedances. Anticipated construction level: fine on 12,
finicky on 17. Performance potential is not bad for a small antenna. The
basic idea was broght to my attention by Paul Carr, N4PC, at the
Huntsville Hamfest this year, so I worked out the design details for one
possible version.
