According to the lastest engineering calcs from US Tower, they call for 27"
long ASTM A#^ anchor rods with nut welded on bottom with 1/8" fillet all
around.
The diameter of the rod will be whatever is required for your base, usuallt
1" or 1 1/8".
If you can find such material locally and have it welded, and still save some
money, go for it. I find most of the time the trouble call and running
around to find the proper material isn't worth the small savings you might
see in the end.
Good luck.
