Hello Mike,
Enhancement from ground reflection is included
in the claimed gain figures.... 

The X9 and X7 specs are given on this page:

You will find that the gain is specified for both t/o
angle and height above ground:
                         X9             X7
eg: Max Gain (dB) 
  @ One Wavelength 15M  13.9 @ 12deg   13.0 @ 12 deg
          
So the antenna gain was calculated at 15m above ground,
which is probably an excellent height for a tri-bander.

BTW has anyone seen adverts or specs for the Bencher/Butternut
new antenna announced in May?
