Using ladderline\open wire, etc., on resonant, low impedence antennas such as
a yagi/quad/dipole, is an unnecessary complication... You get RF in the
shack, you have to adjust the tuner, it is tough to keep balanced, the
loading changes with rain and wind sway, etc... Putting baluns on the end of
the line in an attempt to fool the antenna/transceiver is not an answer as
you will have excessive balun losses if they are not terminated in relatively
nonreactive loads... if the loads are nonreactive, why are you not using
coax?...
Ladder line is best left for voltage fed antennas, non resonant antennas, and
otherwise unable to feed with coax situations...
