Here's another area where Rohn does not help the user/installer. What if
the Rohn catalog calls for 3/16" cable but you use 1/4" because that is what
you have? Do you tension it to 400 pounds or 670 pounds or something in
between?
And here is yet another area where my common sense tells me that you cannot
always make the guys the same tension. What if your guys attached at the
same level on the tower are not all anchored the same distance from the base
(as is frequently the case on smaller lots)? In order to keep the tower
vertical, the guy tensions MUST be UNequal. This is the only way to keep
the horizontal components of guy tension equal if the guys make different
angles with level ground. If the horizontal forces on the tower imparted by
the guys are not egual, the tower will move until they are, and then it
won't be plumb . . .
Rohn offers no help or assistance in their catalog on this, either.
