I have used a 5 band trap yagi for years with "good" results. wanted to
improve performance in the pileups! replaced with a 3 el 5band quad
with a significant improvement. Have only had the quad up for 9 months
so it is to early to attest to its reliability, however using a 3" boom
, heavy duty spreaders( 1.5 ' tapering to 1") and stranded copper weld
wire is a good solution. the weight and wind load is less than the yagi
it replaced. Did give up fb though. My quads are typically 15db. gl Art
