On my rotating tower (Rohn 55, 130') I have been successful with one
clamp holding the TH7s (3 high stack) to the tower. The antennas have
never turned turned due to wind, etc. However, on my Mosley S403 (3
short el on 40, 36' boom @ 130') I clamp the boom to both tower legs.
I think the TH7 is about as big an antenna as you could get by with just
using one boom to tower mounting clamp. Frankly, I've been a little
surprised that the TH7s haven't spun around some on the tower. . . but
you can probably chalk that success up to the great HyGain boom to mast
clamp. . . it's very strong and holds things securely in place.
I would say a general rule of thumb would be anything with a boom of
over 24' would have to have two mounting points. Ideally, maybe even
anything over 18' should have two. Must my thoughts.
