Animal chewing on wires! And, the anger of trees not yet fully covered!
I wonder if the chewing had to do with the temp. of the wires--warm may
have drawn them? A recently dead anamal bone would be warm. Are there
any animals that chew on roots? What else in nature is like a wire?
I suggest encasing ur coax in 4" to 6" perf. plastic flex. pipe-- usually
sold for field tile, and leave it on the surface of earth. Large diameter
allows drying air in, perfs allow water out, easy to pull cable thru, can
be cut easily (to ease the cable pulling into shorter lenghts; or even
slit longitudinally to allow easy insertion of cable), and may keep
animals off the wire, even.
BTW, sounds like racoons-- climbers, strong jaws, curious, etc.
