Hi Matt, sorry to here about the PL259, I know I had the same problem about 2
weeks
ago when I completely reworked and replaced most of my antennas. What I use is a
butane filled soldering iron by Weller, there are several models to choose from
ranging from 30 - 100 watts. I can typically solder 2-3 pl259's on one fill up.
I
have 2 light duty and one heavy duty models, and I would have to say they are a
godsend when doing tower work.
