Blake, N4GI, and I utilized method #37 for removing tree limbs that were
at 70 feet in a big pine but the limbs were hitting the 20meter beam as it
turned, stopping it from turning!!!
Method #1 is to climb the tree and cut the limbs. Dangerous and costly.
Method #37 involves shooting the offending limbs in two with a 30-30
rifle. This method is done safely on Mother Earth, but you must be a good
shot. Cream puffs use a scope, we used open sights and it took a total of
24 rounds to take out three limbs.
I got one limb with one shot, however.
All limbs weire about size of adult wrist.
And, you can cut/shoot off the limbs some dist ance out from the trunk,
unlike the climb-and-cut method #1, saving some of the limb.
This tree has shown no anger ....... yet.
