First off thanks to all who responded to my query about the antennas. Also
thanks to those who offered to buy the new one and/or pick it up.
It IS true that the rebuild/overhaul I did last summer was probably the
last one that can be done with out MAJOR rework. After listening to all the
arguments I have decided to give it a try and have started the assembly this
evening. It should go on the tower this weekend. The assy seems very easy so
far. The packaging and instructions are certainly well thought out and parts
are seperated into bundles. (unlike some I have assembled where you get a bag
of hardware, a sketch, and some elements). At least with a tilt over there is
not much challenge to mounting the yagi to the boom.
Also I would be very remiss if I did not thank Tom Schiller, N6BT, both
for his response to my question, and most of all for the generosity of Force
12 in their donation to the 1998 Hamvention. The hamvention simply would not
be what it is today without the hard work and goodwill of hams and vendors
alike. I for one really appreciate the work that goes into this yearly fling
and thoroghly enjoy myself every year.
Thanks Again
and 73
