Steve: (Re: City Council whore)
It's not often that I disagree with you, but you have this one DEAD WRONG.
This country, and every government entity within it, is organized on a "for the
people, by the people" basis. To arbitrarily yield to these small-time
bureaucrats
is absurd.
We The People put them there. We The People can take them out. Votes
do count. When those jerks begin to subject their own personal feelings onto
the general populace, they are grossly out of order. It's happening all
over the
country, in virtually every segment of society. Government....trying to
control
every aspect of American Lives. Get the Friggin' government out of our lives.
Amateur Radio is a Public Service. It should be treated and respected as such.
I would bet you a fair amount of cash that a fairly well organized group of
hams....such as a club with a good spokesman....could take on the city council
of any town in America and make a pretty strong case to keep their buts out
of the majority of Amateur Radio.
I sure as hell wouldn't pay the $62 without a fight. And I would spend a lot
more than $62 challenging those SOB's..... then I'd sue them for costs.
Just giving in to them ain't part of the agreement or process, under any
circumstances.
