Question: Anyone familiar with Joslyn Mfg, who are another manufacturer of
earth screws? I have tried to reach AB Chance, without any luck. I found a
local utility supplier who carries Joslyn products. I purchased a 66" long,
3/4" thick rod, with 6" helix for only $7.21. Please don't flame me for being
cheap! The manufacturer doesn't list any spec for pull-out force, but I've
sent them an email inquiry. The Joslyn screw looks OK to me. Since this is
longer than the Rohn screw, I assume (material strength being equal) that the
longer shaft should offer more than the 2500 lb rating on the Rohn screw.
Joslyn offers an 8" helix on a 66" rod for a very reasonable $19, but they
have to be special ordered. Suggestions?

BTW: I have taken everyone's advice and am buying NEW Rohn 45G for my wimpy
little 60' footer in my back yard.
Thanks, and 73,
Mark N3AVA/0
