Hi Reid, (Wonder if we are far separated relatives, hi),
The B is a completely different unit, even looks different.
Has three buttons on the front, a red one for power, and
two others labeled Gate and Mode. The B model
measures many more parameters that the 259, and
is well worth the price if you are interested in cable loss,
actual impedance's, etc.,, etc. Go for it!
