Hi Dave.
Be sure to put some kind of coating or something on the shims. I put up
a 40 meter vertical and used some shims on it, and after a while, it got
a bunch of corrosion between the shim and the antenna. Also it became
loose and one shim fell out as the antenna worked back and forth in the
wind.. 73
