Funny you should mention Bees or Wasps making you fall...one Friday the
thirteenth (I kid you not!) I was out clearing telephone line trouble on my
territory for the railroad, yeah that nasty old 600 ohm open wire stuff.
Well I had a short on a dial circuit around 25 miles from y office and
headed down that way to clear the trouble. As I was climbing a pole to make
a test to narrow the problem down I was nailed right square in the settter
by a red tailed wasp. First response was to howl and slap at it..not a good
thing to do 15 feet up the pole! Next stop..ground zero. Not only did I get
stung on the way up I landed on the nest... Fortunately I am not allergic
to wasps or bees
however had I been I would have been in big trouble since I was alone in
the middle of no where. If it can happen on a pole it damn sure can happen
on a Tower folks. the point is this is very good information to have in
your "tool" kit, as much as good climbing equipment and other tools.

And as our good Doctor pointed out in that kit it would be a good idea to
have a kit specificaly with the epi pen or some such if you happen to be
sensative to wasps.

Now can we return to our regularly scheduled program of Tower Talk?
